Sixty Inches From Center and the Chicago Archives + Artists Project invited artists Aay Preston-Myint,  H. Melt, and Ivan LOZANO to create new works inspired by materials found in the archival collections of Media Burn Independent Video Archive, the Chicago Protest Collection at the Newberry Library, and the Leather Archives & Museum. The exhibition Archives + Artists: Pilots was the culmination of their research and collaboration with archivists in these organizations, on view at the Leather Archives and Museum, December 1, 2018 - February 12, 2019.

Archives + Artists: Pilots was made possible with support from the Gaylord & Dorothy Donnelley Foundation. Research was facilitated by Sara Chapman at Media Burn, Catherine Grandgeorge at Newberry Library, and Mel Leverich at the Leather Archives & Museum. It was co-curated by Tempestt Hazel and Kate Hadley Toftness.
